‘Never let the things you want make you forget the things you have’
There are so many options when it comes to hot dogs. I just read an article on Wideopencountry.com about the global styles of ‘the dog’. Very interesting reading.
Even though it was a very busy day I still managed to prepare a meal I could be proud of. I get a little flustered when I must resort to chips and salsa or ham sandwiches for dinner. That hardly ever happens but on a rare (very rare) occasion it is a ‘fend for yourself’ situation. GRRRRRRRR!!
I cooked these hot dogs in the oven with jalapeno and the flavors were great.
How I designed mine:
- Italian chicken sausage links on a toasted bun
- roasted red pepper (from a jar)
- roasted jalapeno
- sliced red onions
- fresh basil leaves
- mozzarella cheese
As usual my husband added chili and a few other things to his. And…those are roasted sweet potatoes off to the side with some green goddess dressing. I am in the process of experimenting with sweet potatoes because they are on my list of ‘ewwwie’ foods that I am trying to learn to love. There will be a future post about this subject. This girl is going to spend the day in the kitchen cooking something and enjoy the sound of rain on the tin roof. 🙂
Have a wonderful Blessed afternoon!
